Locally licensed crypto platform Coins.ph announced the appointment of Amira Alawi as its new Global Marketing Director, sharing that it represented a major milestone in its plan to expand its operations beyond the Philippines.

Coins.ph New Global Marketing Director

As Global Marketing Director, Alawi will oversee the unification of Coins.ph’s brand strategy, partnerships, and user acquisition efforts across international markets, the crypto exchange said in a media statement.

This includes leading initiatives tied to Coins.xyz, the company’s upcoming global platform designed to offer cross-border payments, decentralized finance (DeFi) access, and web3 onboarding tools tailored for emerging economies.

“Coins.ph has earned the trust of millions across the Philippines—and now we have the opportunity to bring that trust and access to the world. Our goal is to empower small businesses, creators, and everyday users to participate fully in the digital economy. This is about building pathways for financial inclusion at a global scale.”

Moreover, Alawi emphasized that the Asia Pacific (APAC) region will serve as the foundation for Coins.ph’s global expansion, adding that the region’s combination of regulatory progress, fintech innovation, and community-driven adoption serves as a model for the company’s international strategy.

“APAC is not just a region—it is proof that blockchain can go mainstream. Coins.ph was built where practicality, transparency, and community matter most. That balance between creativity and compliance is what makes real adoption possible.”

Under her leadership, Alawi pledged that Coins.ph’s global marketing team will focus on four priorities through 2025:

  • Launching global campaigns centered on transparency, education, and accessibility.
  • Forming strategic partnerships with fintech and DeFi innovators across Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America.
  • Promoting web3 literacy through creator-led, localized storytelling.
  • Strengthening security and compliance frameworks to sustain user trust during expansion.

Coins.ph’s Global Expansion

Discussing its broader goal to make blockchain-based financial services accessible worldwide, Coins.ph noted that the appointment supports its ongoing international growth strategy, which targets key markets such as Thailand, Australia, Brazil, and Mauritius.

According to the company, these markets were selected for their potential in driving adoption and fostering financial inclusion.

  • Thailand is recognized as a fast-growing digital economy with progressive crypto regulation.
  • Australia and Brazil host large Filipino diaspora communities that can benefit from crypto-powered remittance solutions.
  • Mauritius serves as both a financial innovation hub and a strategic gateway to Africa and the Middle East.

Coins.ph is also exploring opportunities across the Middle East and North Africa region, where blockchain adoption and remittance innovation are rapidly expanding.

Recently, the firm reduced the USDT/PHP trading spread to just 0.03% for high-volume traders through its TradeDesk platform. The promotion, running from October 15 to December 15, 2025, aims to attract professional and institutional traders by offering lower transaction costs and deeper liquidity.
