Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation secured two major accolades at The Asian Banker Philippine Awards 2026 for its digital financial products catering to Social Security System members and remote workers.

The Philippine lender received the award for “Best Growth Strategy in Digital Banking in the Philippines” for its MySSS Card powered by DiskarTech, while its RCBC Pulz U.S. Virtual Account took home “Best Digital Ecosystem and Platform Initiative in the Philippines.” Both financial products were launched in 2025.

The MySSS Card integrates SSS digital platform access, an RCBC DiskarTech digital account and a debit card into a single product aimed at simplifying onboarding for unbanked Filipinos. Meanwhile, the RCBC Pulz U.S. Virtual Account, powered by Meridian, allows local freelancers and virtual assistants to receive and manage U.S. dollar payments without requiring a U.S. address or Social Security number. RCBC President and Chief Executive Officer Reggie Cariaso stated that the recognition affirms the institution’s focus on creating technology that addresses everyday financial barriers.

“Every digital solution we develop is designed to make financial services more accessible, intuitive, and impactful,” Cariaso said.

Lito Villanueva, executive vice president and chief innovation and inclusion officer at RCBC, noted that the awards highlight the bank’s efforts in developing contextual banking solutions for an increasingly digital consumer market. The Asian Banker commended RCBC for combining large-scale customer acquisition with platform integration across cross-border payments and financial services. The awards come as RCBC expands its digital infrastructure, including the recent deployment of an open-loop EMV payment system on the LRT-2 train line and the waiving of select bank transfer fees.
